FLUORIDE VARNISH

Our hygienists may recommend fluoride treatments to help with tooth decay and sensitivity.

Contrary to popular belief, fluoride has many benefits for both children and adults. When teeth are forming, fluoride strengthens the enamel surface and makes it more resistant to decay. For adult teeth, fluoride helps repair a cavity in its earlier stages and rebuilds the enamel layer of the tooth.

BRUSH & BOND

If you experience extreme sensitivity with hot or cold foods or even cold air, then Brush & Bond might be for you.

The sensitive, inner part of a tooth is called dentin, which contains small hollow tubes called tubules through which sensation is transmitted to the tooth’s nerve center. When the tubules are exposed, sensations like heat or cold are able to reach the nerves in the tooth, resulting in pain.

An effective and affordable solution, Brush & Bond permanently seals the tubules and protects the tooth’s nerve center to prevent sensitivity. You’ll be able to eat and drink with no worries!

MOUTHGUARDS

Jaw soreness and headaches can be symptoms of teeth grinding. Stress and anxiety can lead to teeth grinding, as well as sleeping disorders, missing or crooked teeth, or an abnormal bite. Our doctors may recommend a mouthguard to help protect your teeth while you sleep.

Mouthguards are also important for anyone involved in sports and outdoor activities. They help minimize trauma to the mouth and face and help prevent broken or missing teeth. Our lab technicians can make a custom-made mouthguard right here in our office.

WISDOM TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

Wisdom teeth (third molars) are the last teeth to erupt and typically come in during your late teens or early twenties. Not everyone has wisdom teeth, and those who do may not necessarily need them removed. However, sometimes extraction is necessary due to decay, pain or crowding. The doctor will apply a local anesthetic to help make the extraction as comfortable for you as possible. Once the tooth has been carefully and gently extracted, the doctor will go over post-op instructions for you to follow.

SEDATION DENTISTRY AND ANXIETY MANAGEMENT

Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas”, has a potent relaxation effect. It is safe and effective for both adults and children, helping them to relax and reducing anxiety during treatment. You simply breathe in, and it starts working within seconds of inhaling it. Adults are safe to drive afterwards because it is flushed from your system with pure oxygen before you are released, and has no long-lasting effects.

Oral sedation helps you relax and become very comfortable during your treatment. Our office maintains licenses and permits for both our doctors and our facility to provide safe,  orally administered sedation medications during treatment.  We take extensive care to ensure that sedation is the correct option for your treatment and that the correct type and quantity of sedation medications are provided. Sedation medications are potent and do not leave your blood supply quickly.  A driver to transport you to and from our office to home will always be necessary.
